How to add a product with its price, GST and pack sizes
Products live in your godown, which Mulberry calls an inventory. Most businesses have one: Main Inventory.
Steps
Step 1: In the menu, click Inventory, then Open Inventory.
Step 2: You see each product's price, last purchase rate, margin and current stock. Current stock changes by itself with every bill and purchase.
Step 3: Click Add Product and type the product name. The code (SKU) is optional.
Step 4: Choose the department, type and family. The salesman's app shows products in these groups.
Step 5: Type the HSN code and choose the GST rate.
Step 6: Choose the unit you sell it in, such as piece, packet or bottle, and type the selling price for one.
Step 7: Type the opening stock: how many you have today.
Step 8: Sell it by the crate or case too? Click Add another pack size, for example 1 crate = 24 bottles.
Step 9: Click Save Product. Salesmen can bill it once it is loaded into their van.
Good to know
- To change the price later, click Edit. To stop selling a product, click Deactivate.
- Stock Movements shows every change in stock: purchases, van loads, bills and returns. Check it first when a number looks wrong.
- Add Stock is only for correcting stock by hand. Stock you buy goes in through a purchase bill.
