What distribution software costs in India, and what the price leaves out
Published prices for Tally, Marg and Vyapar, which platforms quote only on request, and six questions that reveal the real yearly cost of any DMS.

Ask five software sellers what their product costs and you will get three prices, one “depends on your requirement” and one demo booking. That is not because the answer is secret. It is because the software a distributor needs is sold in three very different ways, and the price on the page counts different things in each.
This guide puts the published figures side by side, says plainly which vendors do not publish one, and ends with the six questions that turn any quote into a yearly number you can compare. Every price below links to the vendor’s own page, so you can check it rather than trust it.
The three kinds of software, and how each is priced
- Billing and accounting packages — Tally, Marg, Vyapar and similar. Priced per computer, per user or per edition, usually yearly. These publish their prices.
- Field-sales and distribution platforms sold to brands — the systems a large FMCG company rolls out to its whole distributor network. These are quoted after a demo.
- Distributor software priced per business — one subscription for the whole operation, counter and vans together. This is the kind we sell, so read that section knowing who wrote it.

Platforms that quote on request
Three of the best-known field-sales and distribution platforms in India do not print a price. That is normal for software sold to large brands, where contracts are usually negotiated. Here is what each pricing page actually shows:
- FieldAssist: Starter, Business and Enterprise AI plans, each with a “Request Pricing” button.
- BeatRoute: Starter, Business and Enterprise packs and a startup programme, with no prices listed.
- Bizom: a “Pricing” link in the footer that leads back to the home page; plans are sold after a demo.
If you are a distributor whose brand has already chosen one of these, you will usually be given it. If you are choosing for yourself, ask for the price per user per month in writing, and ask what is included — the six questions below are the ones to send.
What Mulberry Sales costs
One price for the whole business, not per salesman. No GST is added — the price shown is the price paid. Paying yearly costs ten months for twelve.
| Plan | Per month | Per year | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Billing | ₹299 | ₹2,990 | Shops and small traders who want billing software, not a distribution system. |
| Starter | ₹1,799 | ₹17,990 | A distributor running one or two salesmen. |
| Growth | ₹2,499 | ₹24,990 | A distributor running a team across beats and day-lists. |
| Business | ₹3,999 | ₹39,990 | Established distributors who need to find where money leaks. |
| Enterprise | Custom pricing | Quoted | Companies putting their whole distributor network on one system. |
The full list of what each plan includes is on the pricing page.
A worked example
Take a distributor with one billing computer at the counter and five salesmen on four vans. On Growth, which includes that team, the year costs ₹24,990 paid yearly — one figure for the business, whatever the team does that year within the plan’s limits (Up to 5 salesmen, 2 inventories, 4 vans included (up to 10)).
Many distributors in that position keep Tally or another package for their accounts, and that is a reasonable choice — the accountant knows it and the returns are filed from it. In that case the honest comparison is not “Tally or Mulberry”: it is the cost of the field side on top of the books you already keep. How the two work side by side is written up separately.
If you only need counter billing with no vans, Billing is ₹299 a month. The packages above do counter billing too; at that size, pick the one your staff find easiest to use.
Six questions that give you the real yearly cost
Send these to any vendor, us included, and ask for the answers in writing.
- Priced per what? Per user, per device, per van, per company or per business. Multiply it out for next year’s team, not this year’s.
- Is GST included? On the pages above, 18% on a ₹26,000 licence is another ₹4,680.
- What does renewal cost? A one-time licence with a yearly renewal charge is a subscription with a large first payment.
- Is setup and training charged? And who does it — the vendor, or a local dealer on their own rates?
- What happens to the price next year? Ask whether the price you sign at is held, and for how long.
- Can you take your data out? In Excel, without a fee, the day you decide to leave. If the answer is vague, that is the answer.
The cost the price list never shows
The subscription is rarely the biggest number. A piece billed at the wrong price, a case that went out on the van and did not come back, a credit bill nobody chased — those run every day, and they are what the software is actually for. Where the margin goes walks through them, and the leakage calculator puts a number on yours. Compare that number with any price on this page before you decide.
If you want to try ours on your own shops and products first, the trial is 14 days and takes no card. If you are moving from another package, here is what carries across.
Want to see it on your own numbers?
Mulberry Sales does the counting described above — billing, van loading, stock and day-end profit — for one price covering your whole business, not per salesman.
